DAEMONIUM MACHINÆ
[ FINIS MUSICAE x MERCER LABS ]
_ TAKE CONTROL
Take control over the Robotic Cellist via transhuman command inside Mercer Labs NY —
The triangular podium before you is equipped with an infrared motion tracking camera. Raise one hand circa 8 inches above it, and move it left to right, right to left.
You are now conducting Finis Musicae’s player robot, turning music synthesis physical via telekinesis.
Commissioned by future forward artist Roy Nachum, the permanent installation features Finis Musicae's bespoke technology, otherworldly visual and mechatronic design as well as original score. Finalized in collaboration with Teenage Engineering's OP-1s and modular POM-400s, USM modular and Bang&Olufsen Beolab speakers.
